The Latest Trailer For Resident Evil: The Final Chapter Takes A Look Back At The Film Series

by Blake Hester on Aug 09, 2016 at 10:02 AM

Sony has released a Japanese trailer for its upcoming film Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, the final entry in its long running Resident Evil film franchise. The trailer, just under a minute long, shows protagonist Alice (played by actress Milla Jovovich) fighting through swarms of zombies as the remaining humans try to keep the world together against a largely undead population.

The Final Chapter, as the name implies, will be the end of Alice's story, which began in 2002 with Paul W. S. Anderson's Resident Evil film – a loose adaptation of the game of the same name. It is currently expected for a January 27, 2017 release. Check the new trailer, which gives some brief looks back at the 14-year-old series, down below:

Production on The Final Chapter began last July. For more on the latest in Resident Evil game series, Resident Evil 7, read our feature from this year's E3 where we answered the five biggest questions you had about the game.
