Armello Receives First DLC And Xbox One Compatibility On August 30
August 30 is going to be a big day for fans of digital board game Armello. Not only will the game become available for Xbox One, but it's very first DLC, titled The Usurpers Hero Pack, also releases.
We first learned about Armello's Xbox One compatibility and new DLC back in April when League of Geeks stated they would arrive this Fall. Turns out the release is earlier than expected.
The DLC includes four new anthropomorphic playable characters from four different animal clans. Each character has their own stats and powers that they bring to the table in Armello's fantasy world. The new characters include:
- Magna, the Unbroken of the wolf clan, a tank-like character whose Hero Power is called "Shield Maiden " and allows her to to reflect attacks back onto her enemies. She is built to succeed in combat situations, as she also has high body and fight stats.
- Ghor, the Wyldkin of the bear clan who gains power when near forests. His Hero Power is "Conduit" and allows him to cast spells for one less magic point for every adjacent forest he is nearby. As well, he can cast to any nearby woodland themed tile on the board.
- Elyssia, Wardress of Warrens is a hero of the rabbit clan. She has a high wits stat that allows her to keep a firm grip on Armello's economic standing that in turn gives her a higher influence within the world. Her Hero Power is "Architect" and grants her control of the daily gold reward for holding settlements. It's best to use Elyssia strategically and avoid dropping her into straightforward battle.
- Sargon, The Death Teller of the rat clan has balanced stats, but his special ability gives those who use him a high strategic advantage. Using his Hero Power "Veil Gazer" you can see see cards before they are drawn by the other players, a tool which could alter the outcome of a game at any point during it's playthrough.
Each of these four new characters will also receive a Clan Ring, which provides boosts to the base stats of a hero. Armello is currently available for PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android. It will be coming to Xbox One on August 30 along with The Usurpers Hero Pack, which is priced at $9.99.
