Mark Hamill, Shaq, And Kiefer Sutherland Announced As Game Awards Special Guests

by Joseph Knoop on Dec 01, 2015 at 07:40 AM

The annual Game Awards show is no stranger to celebrity guest stars. A new round of announcements from producer Geoff Keighley has revealed three guests we’ll see at this year’s festivities.

According to a series of tweets made by Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley, Star Wars actor Mark Hamill, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, and actor Kiefer Sutherland are all scheduled to make an appearance at this year’s show. Sutherland recently lent his voice to Metal Gear Solid V’s protagonist Big Boss, while Hamill is starring in Star Citizen’s single-player component “Squadron 42” alongside other actors like Gary Oldman and Gillian Anderson.

The Game Awards is scheduled to air this Thursday, December 3 at 6pm PST on a number of streaming platforms, including Twitch, YouTube, PSN, and Xbox Live.

Our Take
It's not clear what roles Hamill and co. will play at the Game Awards, but game announcements or new footage isn't unlikely, given the show's history. The inclusion of Hamill most likely means a new look at Star Citizen. Let's just hope Shaquille O'Neal isn't there for the crowdfunded Shaq Fu sequel.
