Team Sonic Racing Adds Villainous Team Eggman Squad
Sega has announced a new team of racers for the upcoming Team Sonic Racing. Team Eggman features three villains from various points of Sonic's history. Head of Sonic Team and Team Sonic Racing producer Takashi Iizuka confirmed to us in November that there are 15 playable racers in the game, meaning this is the final character announcement ahead of its May release.
Each team features three roles: speed, technique, and power. Dr. Eggman heads up the team as the technique character, while Metal Sonic fills in the speed role, and Zavok, who debuted in Sonic Lost World on Wii U, is the team's power character.

If you're a fan of these characters and the Sonic Universe, Iizuka told us that they will engage in banter throughout the race. "We will have all the characters in the map have situational conversations as you race – other titles don’t really do that," he said. "We created a lot of dialogue for all the characters for when you receive an item from a teammate, spin out a rival opponent, or when you are calling out for help to your teammates. We wanted the players to really feel like they were racing in the Sonic Universe alongside of all the characters, which is unique to this title. For those that prefer a more quiet and focused experience, you can also turn the voices off!"
