Ubisoft Adapting Child Of Light And Werewolves Within For TV And Film

by Imran Khan on Oct 30, 2018 at 06:10 PM

Ubisoft is pursuing adaptations for two of its properties, the Ubi-Art RPG Child of Light and Werewolves Within, according to a report by Variety. The deal would adapt the rhyming RPG as a television series and the social werewolf-accusing game as a movie.

Child of Light makes a lot of sense as a TV show and was greenlit when writers Mishna Wolff and Tasha Huo were given the ability to look through Ubisoft's properties for things to adapt. They brought the idea of Child of Light to Ubisoft Motion Pictures, the company in charge of producing and licensing Ubisoft properties for multimedia projects, and were set.

Werewolves Within is a multiplayer game where players play with their friends and try to figure out which of them is a werewolf. You might know this as a game that has existed forever called general social game Werewolf, but Ubisoft adapted it into a video game form, and is now making a movie.

In oddly related news, one of Ubisoft Motion Pictures' ongoing projects has been an Assassin's Creed show with Netflix. It is currently being produced by Adi Shankar, showrunner for Netflix's Castlevania and rumored producer for a possible new Legend of Zelda series.
