Creative Director Of Assassin's Creed III Explains How He Would Fix The Game

by Imran Khan on Sep 13, 2018 at 09:05 PM

Earlier today, Ubisoft announced that part of the Assassin's Creed Odyssey season pass will include Assassin's Creed III remastered for the current generation. In addition to graphical tweaks, Ubisoft has indicated that they would be improving the gameplay based on feedback, but did not indicate how.

The game's creative director, Alex Hutchinson, has his own thoughts on what he would change.

While Hutchinson no longer works at Ubisoft and is unlikely to be involved with the remaster, he did have a laundry list of things he would have changed about the somewhat critically panned Assassin's Creed game if he were to take another swing at it. While Hutchinson tweeted about 11 different changes, we'll only embed a few here, but you should check them all out.

While a lot of these are structural changes and exceedingly unlikely to make it into a remaster as they extend well beyond the realm of tweaks, it is interesting to see how some of the complaints people had about the game were reflected by the game's developers, as well. It seems that an overarching choice to let players experience the game at their own pace lead to pacing problems when players did exactly that.

Assassin's Creed III Remastered will released in March as part of the Odyssey season pass and as a standalone release.
