Tex Murphy: The Tesla Effect
Tex Murphy is an adventure game series known for its use of full motion video which had a run of releases during the 1990’s. The last game was released in 1998. Now, over fifteen years later, the series’ creator Chris Jones has teamed with Atlus to bring a new game, Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure, to the PC.
What is Tesla Effect about? It’s an adventure game with a film noir style set in dystopian post-World War III San Francisco in the 2040s. It stars grizzled, down-on-his-luck private investigator Tex Murphy, who soon finds himself on the case to uncover Nikola Tesla’s biggest secrets.
In this video, Chris Jones, who actually plays Tex Murphy in the game, would like to let you know that pre-ordering will let you have the sound track to the game. What he does not mention is the specifics. Pre-ordering on GOG.com will net you 10% Discount ($17.99), the Tesla Effect Soundtrack, and one of the following full games: Tex Murphy 1+2, Under a Killing Moon, The Pandora Directive, or Tex Murphy: Overseer. If you pre-order on Steam, you will get a 10% discount, a Tex Murphy Live Jazz Soundtrack, and Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive.
