When it came time to create a sequel to 2010's Disney Epic Mickey, the studio behind the game was more than ready. "We created a world that was rich enough and deep enough that it's worth revisiting," says Junction Point's Warren Spector. With Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, players will be able to revisit that world with a friend. The game includes cooperative gameplay, with player two taking on the role of Mickey's pal (and predecessor) Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. A new behind-the-scenes trailer shows some of Oswald's tricks, as well as a look at what the game will look like on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

In Disney Epic Mickey 2, players can hop into the game as Oswald. Junction Point says the two characters are complementary and contrasting. Mickey is an expert at using paint and thinner to defeat enemies and modify the twisted world of the Wasteland. Oswald comes complete with his remote control, which has similar functionality. He's also able to use his ears as a helicopter, to slow down descents and reach hidden areas.

While Disney Epic Mickey captured the essence of Mickey Mouse and his pals, it was plagued with gameplay issues. Its dodgy camera was the most notable offender, requiring constant maintenance and rendering some sections nearly unplayable. Fortunately, Junction Point has refined that aspect of the game in the sequel, and Spector saying it's been upgraded with hundreds of improvements.

The game will be available on multiple platforms this fall, including the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and 3DS. Don't think we've seen the last of Mickey, either. "There are plenty of stories to tell in the wasteland," Spector says. "Plenty. We've just scratched the surface."
