Gaslamp Games’ take on colonization seems pretty routine on the surface. But once you dig (and unearth mysterious artifacts), you’ll find out that things are not quite as they seem.

In the latest update, a touch of Innsmouth comes to your colonial town. As you’ll see in the video below, your more normal citizens won’t take kindly to the transformation.

This update also fixes a number of items. Our favorite (and also, possibly, most disappointing) is that your villagers will no longer occasionally explode after listening to sermons. Additionally, “the horrible grass lump from a lower dimension” has been removed. Much of this game is based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft, but I don’t recall that one.

Clockwork Empires is currently in Early Access. For more, you can check out a preview.
