The lights are on
I know that dedicated servers were fun and all, but is not including them in MW2 that much of a deal? I'd rather play the way MW2 was meant to be played, but does it have to come to changing the entire multiplayer experience? I don't know what to think, one part of me says to screw MW2 and wait for Bad Company 2, and the other says to live with it and enjoy what is left of multiplayer. I'd like to know how much of a deal it really is though, because I haven't bought it yet based on that decision.
Everybody Lies.

Find out for yourself from other PC players. I must say that the 360 and PC levels of quality when it comes to the multi-player experience are quite different, but still enjoyable. I recently played MW2 and was pleased by how tight the 360 system was. It's definitely enjoyable. However, the online experience is a different case - and I haven't been able to test out online multi-player. However, don't ditch this game over something like that; the missions and the co-op experience are worth their weight, plus more!
i like the multiplayer
Dude calm down! If he wants to play it on the pc let him. Don't get me wrong I have an Xbox 360 but if he wants to play on the pc then let him.
I'd say at least rent the game. I loved it and I think it's worth a rent. If you like it enough when you rent it, then buy it. Wait..... Do they even rent out PC games??
I have had a chance to sample the 360 multiplayer, but I have to say, the gameplay impressed me, and the quality of players has increased to some degree, I haven't seen nearly as many angry, spoiled twelve year olds this time around, a few glitches and some server problems dampened it a bit, but aside from that, Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer is impressive, immersive, and fun all around.
The Animus: I'd say at least rent the game. I loved it and I think it's worth a rent. If you like it enough when you rent it, then buy it. Wait..... Do they even rent out PC games??
Noo... they don't. That's a good idea though... I feel a business deal coming on!
EDIT: It is mostly because the PC is moving more towards the download-only side. Now if you could do downloadable rentals...

are you seriously asking whether mw2 multiplayer is good? wow. just wow.
ok, i get it, all the hype about the special servers might have been a little much, but this is one of the best online shooter experiences i have had the pleasure of playing. the multiplayer really sets this game off and made modern warfare 2 a fantastic game
hell yeah it is worth playing...up to date, this game is the best online FPS you can get.
worth is dependent on tha person applying it. while i dont have a pc, i cant comment on it. but its very obvious u want to, so y not give it a try.
yes it is worth playing man it is fun.
