The lights are on
I am a day one ambassador of the 3DS and I love that system and have never had any regrets for paying top dollar. I have yet to buy a Wii U however but would buy one in an instant if I had the ability to pick up a saved game from it on my 3DS like Sony has with the PS3 and Vita. The cross buy program to me is brilliant, though I do not own or want a Vita because I rarely play my PS3. There are games I want for the Wii but not enough to push me to buy one just yet.
One thing I do not know though, is it even possible for Nintendo to implement something like this at this stage? Is it something in the hardware or software that allows a cross play scenario, or both? Would Nintendo be able to roll out a system update one day to the Wii U and 3DS that would make certain or all save games compatible?
Would you buy one or both systems if the Wii U and 3DS had this option?
That's a feature that would turn some heads.
Nintendo would do something similar by letting you play handhelds through the console. Heck, even now MH3U allows local play between the Wii U and 3DS, so you can have friends play along with you.
Nintendo is only recently beginning to add features that are sensible (ie. combining 3DS and Wii U accounts to merge balances). We can only see good things happening if they continue to take the right steps.
