It could mean a new trailer or new details, or the trio could just be attending the show as guests and presenters. There is no guarantee of new Death Stranding details, but it is a strong possibility.
Original story:
Film director Guillermo Del Toro has been confirmed to be a presenter at this year's Game Awards [Full Disclosure: Game Informer is on the voting jury], which are being hosted by Geoff Keighley. This was announced in a tweet, however it gives little information as to exactly what we can expect.

Hideo Kojima revealed his upcoming game Death Stranding at E3 2016, which Del Toro is involved with. It's almost certain now that Del Toro will reveal something new about the upcoming game at the award show. We've had a few updates since then, including how it will release before 2019 and could include a female hero alongside Norman Reedus.

Our Take
The Game Awards is a platform that Kojima used last year as well to shed more light on Death Stranding. We haven't heard a whole lot this year about the title, especially since it was a no show at E3. It seems likely that The Game Awards will be showing off some gameplay of the mysterious game.
