Destiny’s Spring Update Is The Age Of Triumph

by Matt Miller on Mar 03, 2017 at 05:14 AM

Alongside some big Destiny 2 news, Bungie has also begun to unveil its next major update for the first game.

Today’s blog post provided some big news for existing players of Destiny, and how their character will and won’t carry over to the next full sequel. In addition, Bungie revealed the name of its spring update: Age of Triumph.

The new live event is being built as a celebration of the first Destiny game, and to give a “fitting close” to the game.  Age of Triumph is targeting a launch in late March, but the Destiny community team is planning to begin showing it off next week on a livestream, scheduled for Wednesday, March 8. That livestream will be the first in a series leading up to the launch of the new content, with additional streams on March 15 and March 22.

Our Take
It’s been a long dry spell without any meaningful new content in Destiny. I’m pleased that Bungie is planning its spring update as a wrap-up to the first Destiny game, which hopefully will set the stage for the full sequel later in the year.
