Reader Discussion: Which Starter Pokémon Is The Best Starter Pokémon?

by Kyle Hilliard on May 10, 2016 at 03:31 PM

Including today's revealed introductory Pokémon for the upcoming Sun & Moon, there are now 22 different starters among 27 different Pokémon games. Which one is the best?

To help you decide – and you can only pick one – here's the full list:

Red/Green/Blue/FireRed/LeafGreen - Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle
Yellow - Pikachu
Gold/Silver/Crystal/HeartGold/SoulSilver - Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile
Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire - Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip
Diamond/Pearl/Platinum - Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup
Black/White/Black 2/White 2 - Snivy, Tepig, or Oshawott
X/Y - Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie
Sun/Moon - Rowlet, Litten, or Popplio

There are a lot to choose from, many with overlapping abilities, but they're all very distinct. It's easy to go with one of the original, or Pikachu, since they've been around the longest, but don't discount the newcomers! Let us know in the comments below who is the best.
