Minecraft And Cities: Skylines Are Helping Design Real-World Cities
An upcoming Swedish documentary titled My Urban Playground looks into how Paradox Interactive, Mojang, and other games studios are helping design real cities through urban planning.
The documentary explores how civic engineers and video game developers unite to construct and design public areas and entire cities. Stockholm, Sweden in particular is using Cities: Skylines to conceive a public transportation system for the city.
The documentary failed to meet its goal in its Kickstarter campaign, but the project still went forward nonetheless. According to Paradox Interactive's official blog, the documentary will be unveiled at Texas' interactive media, film, and music trade show, South by SouthWest (SXSW), with a screening on March 13 at 4:00 PM CT.
