by Ben Reeves on Sep 09, 2015 at 08:10 AM

Apple has just revealed a bigger iPad for those of us who want to cuddle up with a big screen before bed. The new device will be available for $799 starting in November.

Here are some of the main talking points for the new iPad Pro:

  • The iPad Pro features a 12.9-inch display with 5.6 million pixels in a 2,732 x 2,048 resolution. Its predecessor, the iPad Air, features a 9.7-inch display.
  • The system contains an A9X chip, which is 1.5 times faster than Apple’s A8X chip, making it more powerful than a lot of laptops on the market.
  • The battery will last for 10 hours.
  • The system weighs 1.57 pounds, which is comparable to the original iPad.
  • A Smart Keyboard is an optional accessory that connects via magnetic connectors
  • Another accessory, the Apple Pencil, functions a lot like a stylus an will adjust is input based on its position and pressure.
  • The iPad Pro contains four speakers, which produce three-times the audio of the iPad Air 2.

In November you'll be able to buy a 32GB iPad Pro for $799, a 64GB model for $899, or a 128GB model for $999. LTE-capable models will also be available for about $130 more per unit.

Our Take
This is a cool system with a lot of neat productivity implementations, but like all Apple products it definitely features a hefty price tag.
