Professor Layton And Fantasy Life Sequels Heading To Mobile Devices In Japan

by Kyle Hilliard on Apr 07, 2015 at 03:25 PM

Sequels to two Level-5 franchises were revealed at a recent Level-5 focused event in Japan.

According to a report form Polygon, the new Layton game, titled Layton 7, plays less like a traditional Layton game filled with puzzles, and instead focuses on a single puzzle – figuring out who is a vampire amongst a group of seemingly normal people.

Both games are planned for release on iPhone and Android devices. No plans for a North American release have been announced.

Fantasy Life 2 will continue the gameplay mechanics established by the original 3DS game, letting players choose and level up an assortment of occupations.

Our Take
Hopefully these titles make it stateside. Both franchises have seen moderate success here, so I would be surprised if they didn't make it over. Fantasy Life in particular, seems well suited for the mobile platform. Check in, do some tasks, sign off, etc.
