Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Delayed Out Of 2015

by Mike Futter on Mar 11, 2015 at 03:17 AM

Bad news, Uncharted fans. Sony has announced that Naughty Dog’s fourth (and possibly final) installment in the series won’t be coming this year.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is now slated for release in Spring 2016. "Since we showed you our first gameplay reveal of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, more of the game and story have come together, and it’s become clear to us that this game is much more ambitious than we originally envisioned," write directors Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann. "This game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for."

The duo say that the delay will give them more time meet the standards that the studio and fans expect. For more on Uncharted 4, check out our coverage hub from February 2015.

Our Take
While delays are no doubt good for the game, this deals a blow to Sony. Uncharted 4 was one of the most anticipated 2015 exclusives currently announced for PlayStation 4. It will be interesting to watch Sony's lineup come together without Uncharted in the mix.
