by Mike Futter on Mar 11, 2015 at 07:08 AM

Sony has announced that is ending its program to bring smaller titles to Vita and Android. PlayStation Mobile will be ending this summer according to a note in the PlayStation forums.

Content distribution will be stopped as of July 15, 2015. After September 10, you will not be able to re-download purchased content either.

Starting now, if you want to download purchased content, you will need to manually authenticate your device. For Vita users, this feature can be found under Settings -> PSN -> System Activision -> PlayStation Mobile.

Those using PlayStation Mobile on Android will need open up the app and launch any purchased content after April 10 and before September 10. If you don’t, you won’t be able to access your purchases.

In August, Sony stopped updating the Android side of PlayStation Mobile.

Our Take
It’s a shame when these initiatives come to a close, but this one is a bit alarming. Usually when games are delisted, those that have purchased them can still access them for re-download. Make sure you grab what you want, because once that window closes, you’re out of luck.
