Sunset Overdrive’s Newest Achievement Is Born From A Father’s Love

by Mike Futter on Feb 13, 2015 at 06:08 AM

Hidden in Sunset Overdrive, amidst the foul language, orange explosions, and creative weapons is a custom touch from one the game’s developers. Game director Drew Murray snuck in some fatherly pride in the form of 12 collectible drawings.

Each of these was created by Murray’s daughter Ainsley and all of them can be interacted with by pressing the Y button. Once you’ve found them all, you’ll unlock a special in-game costume designed by Ainsley.

Now, you’ll also be rewarded with 175 gamerscore and the "D'awwwwww" achievement for the effort. Even if you’ve already found all of these, you’ll earn the 175 when next you log in.

Microsoft and Insomniac have put together a map for all of the drawings. If you prefer a video reference, they’ve got one of those, too.

Our Take
I love these little touches in games. What a wonderful gift from a father to his daughter. Fatherly love has a way of bringing out the best in people, as we've seen before with Mike Mika's Donkey Kong hack to make Pauline the playable character and Mario the "damsel in distress."
