Shadowrun: Hong Kong Reaches First Funding Goal In Under Two Hours

by Kyle Hilliard on Jan 13, 2015 at 01:37 PM

Developer Harebrained Schemes' Shadowrun: Hong Kong has already reached its first three funding goals.

As discussed in our earlier feature covering the development of Shadowrun: Hong Kong, Harebrained Schemes doesn't need Kickstarting funding to complete the next entry in the Shadowrun series. The game is already well into development with the studio funding the game itself. This Kickstarter is in place to allow fans to "co-fund" the game and add additional content.

The funding goal was for $100,000, a small number compared to Harebrained's previous Kickstarters, and the Kickstarter reached that goal quickly. Hitting that goal unlocked the ability to develop enhanced player controls. Two follow-up goals for $150,000 and $200,000 have also already been reached unlocking animatic scene transitions, and a new character, Racter. The funding continues to expand and the Kickstarter campaign still has 34 days to go.

Our Take
Hairebrained Schemes, despite the studio name, seems to know exactly what it is doing when it comes to Kickstarter. I'm happy to see them finding success.
