by Mike Futter on Nov 04, 2014 at 04:08 AM

Earlier this year, Sega announced a grand experiment to hand the Sonic franchise to two Western studios. In combination with the pair of Sonic Boom games for Wii U and 3DS, the company is also set to launch an animated series, comic, and merchandising line.

The cartoon begins on November 8 on Cartoon Network, and today Sega has announced the next chapter in its relationship with Archie Comics. The blue blur has been featured in a number of series, even crossing paths with Capcom’s Mega Man.

Sonic Boom begins a brand new story set in the world of the upcoming games. In addition to these new tales, Tomy has created action figures of some of the principle characters.
