World Of Warcraft Movie Has Completed Filming

by Ben Reeves on May 23, 2014 at 03:44 PM

Legendary Pictures' upcoming World of Warcraft movie has been in development for a long time, but it looks like things are finally wrapping up. The movie just finished shooting today. And when I say shooting, I'm talking about cameras; I don't mean that anyone on set was firing weapons.

Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) has been directing the World of Warcraft film, which aims to tell the origin story of the conflict between orcs and humans. Late last year, the project's release date was pushed back from December 18, 2015 to March 11, 2016, but it looks like production has been moving right along. Earlier today, Jones tweeted that the principle photography has been completed.

Our Take
I had almost forgotten about this film. It seems like back when production first started on this film, World of Warcraft was the biggest thing in gaming. Now, I feel like the industry has started to move on, and I wonder what things will look like when it actually releases in 2016. Still, I respect Jones previous films, so I'm hopeful that this will be a good movie.
