Reader Discussion: Are You Sold On A Nintendo 3DS?

by Ben Reeves on Oct 21, 2013 at 01:45 PM

When Nintendo first released the 3DS handheld back in early 2011, gamers complained that there wasn't much of a reason to buy the system. Since then the handheld's library has grown considerably. Has it been enough to convince you to buy one?

The reasons to own Nintendo's current handheld are mounting. The system's library now includes two Mario games, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, and Fire Emblem: Awakening, as well as the recently released Pokémon X and Y. Games like The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Super Smash Bros. are also on the horizon. If that's not enough for you, Ninendo's e-shop features a wealth of titles from old SNES and NES classics to newer gems like Push Mo.

I'm not trying to push you into buying a 3DS. I'm just curious if you already own one. I have one myself, but I find that I rarely use it. I'm often drawn to larger console experiences when I'm at home, and I don't have a lot of time for mobile gaming when I'm out and about.

What about you? Do you have a 3DS? Do you use it much? Or do you find that you don't have much time for gaming on the go? Perhaps your mobile gaming needs are satisfied by your phone, tablet, or Sony's Vita. What would it take to convince you to buy a 3DS? Metroid? What's holding you back from adding it to your Christmas list? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
