The Last Of Us Celebrates Outbreak Day With Video And DLC Tease

by Joe Juba on Sep 26, 2013 at 09:51 AM

In the world of The Last of Us, September 26 is the day that the outbreak truly began. The team at Naughty Dog is marking the day with the release of a video that puts an unusual twist on the game's final scenes.

The video, which you can watch below, was initially shown to PAX attendees last month. However, be warned: It spoils some late-game events, so you can only watch it safely if you've completed The Last of Us.

In the same post on the PlayStation Blog, creative director Neil Druckmann says that Naughty Dog will unveil more about the company's DLC plans tomorrow, September 27.

Our Take
I love when developers do things like this. Behind-the-scenes moments and alternate interpretations of scenes are always fun to watch. I wish games included more of this on-disc, but I'm just pleased that the content is released in some form.

Of course, the bigger news is the DLC tease. I'll have to wait until tomorrow for all the details, but I'm hoping for the announcement of some single-player, story-based missions.
