Civilization V Is Free To Play This Weekend Through Steam, On Sale Until Monday
2k and Firaxis Games are offering a free-to-play weekend through Steam for Civilization V. The free period is under way now and ends on Sunday, June 9th at 1 PM PT.
In celebration of the upcoming second expansion for Civ 5, Brave New World, the studio is also offering 75% off the entire Civ 5 franchise through Steam, Amazon, Game Stop, GameFly, and Newegg. The Civ 5 franchise includes: Civilization V, Civilization V Gold, Civilization V: Gods & Kings, and all Civilization V DLC. That sale started this morning and goes through Monday, June 10 at 10 AM PT.
And if those aren’t enough Sid Meier goodies for you, you can now pre-order Civilization V: Brave New World from the same digital vendors above for a 10% discount.

New York, NY, June 6, 2013 – 2K and Firaxis Games announced today that Sid Meier's Civilization® V is free to play on Steam starting today at 10:00AM PDT until Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 1:00PM PDT. In addition, as part of the celebration of the upcoming release of the second massive expansion pack, Sid Meier’s Civilization V: Brave New World, the entire Civilization V franchise* will be 75% off from participating digital partners** starting today at 10:00AM PDT until Monday, June 10, 2013 at 10:00AM PDT. Players who participate in the free to play weekend on Steam will have until 10:00AM PDT on Monday, June 10, 2013 to purchase Civilization V at 75% off and keep their progress of the game intact.
Additionally, Sid Meier’s Civilization V: Brave New World can be pre-ordered starting today at 10:00AM PDT. By pre-ordering Brave New World from participating digital partners** before the game’s release on July 9, 2013 in North America and July 12, 2013 internationally, fans will receive 10% off on their purchase of the title.
