Reader Discussion: What Star Wars Franchise Needs To Be Brought Back?
It's May 4, which is Star Wars day, so it's a good excuse to do something we like to do anyway: talk about Star Wars.
What Star Wars video game franchise would you like to see make a return? Whether it be by way of sequel, or reboot? Star Wars: Battlefront is an obvious choice (and one that made a surprise appearance today), but what about the slightly more obscure Star Wars video games? How about a new Republic Commando, Bounty Hunter, Podracer, Super Star Wars game, Rogue Squadron, or Masters of Teräs Käsi game?
I would like to see a spiritual successor to Shadows of the Empire, a game I have a special place in my heart for. I don't think it's a particularly great game, but I want to see a new Star Wars game with a diverse set of levels that have you shooting at Storm Troopers and exploring levels in the third person, flying in space and on ice planets, riding speeder bikes, and listening to John Williams' excellent score.
