Dark Souls II Invites You To Despair (But Not About The PC Version This Time)

There are a lot of masochists in the gaming community, and Namco Bandai loves it. The third entry in the Souls series is coming later this year, with all of the soul-crushing difficulty that players have come to expect from the franchise. This time, PC gamers won't have to wait or suffer with a sub-par port.

When Dark Souls II arrives on PC (simultaneously with the console versions), it will be more polished and an experience that lives up to gamers' expectations. Speaking with Shack News, director Yui Tanimura admitted that Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition on PC was "sort of half-assed."

This time out, PC development got under way at the beginning, meaning better planning and preparation for those wishing to play on that platform. The increased focus on PC from the start was due to sales of over 300,000 copies (according to Namco Bandai). You can take a look at the new trailer, entitled "Despair," below.

Dark Souls II is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC later this year.
