Defiance Developers Address Launch Issues, Patches On The Way

by Kyle Hilliard on Apr 07, 2013 at 03:07 PM

Defiance, the shooter MMO/SyFy television show hybrid released recently, and it has had some issues out of the gate, most notably the Xbox 360 version of the game. Nathan Richardsson, Defiance's executive producer has posted a message to let everyone know that they are aware of the issues, and are working to get everything working properly.

The team's first priority is getting the Xbox 360 version working. This is version that is suffering the most issues. There is a patch planned for the game on April 15, with another in the works for approximately two weeks later. The team is also hard at work with assorted server experiments to get the game to stop its game-breaking lagging.

Richardsson also talked about the game's planned DLC. There are five planned DLCs for the year which will have free and paid tiers.

"We do not want to segregate our playerbase so we always want everybody be able to participate and play with friends. The free part is features and content, the paid part is essentially, say, access to a new playable species with a bundle of stuff with it. The upcoming TV tie-ins aren’t DLCs that cost either. It’s all yours."
