Immigrant Proves US Residency With Xbox Live Records

by Kyle Hilliard on Mar 31, 2013 at 10:33 AM

Jose Muñoz came to the United states illegally 25 years ago when he was a one year old, and thanks to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, and Xbox Live, Muñoz is now an American citizen.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program allows young children who came into our country illegally to apply for residency, but it requires that you prove that you have been living in the United States for the past six years. Muñoz was able to do this by showing the court his Xbox Live records, which included play time, games purchased over the years, etc., and the courts accepted.

Muñoz is now an American citizen living in Wisconsin, and he can thank his love of video games.
