Wii U Panorama View, Google Maps Coming In Spring

by Jeff Marchiafava on Dec 05, 2012 at 10:25 AM

Nintendo announced today that its Panorama View tech demo from this year's E3 will be coming to eShop in the spring.

Panorama View was one of the early Wii U tech demos Nintendo displayed at this year's E3. It allows users to view a 360-degree panoramic video by rotating the GamePad as it plays. Nintendo showed off examples of a Rio parade, a London bus tour, and a hang-glider ride at E3, but didn't state whether Panorama View would eventually be released, or if it was just designed to show off the abilities of the Wii U hardware.

During today's Nintendo Direct conference, however, the company announced Panorama View will come out in the spring. Additionally, Nintendo stated that Google Maps is also coming to the Wii U, and allows owners to pan Google Street images with the GamePad.
