UPDATE: Ezio From Assassin's Creed To Guest In Soulcalibur V

by Phil Kollar on Oct 21, 2011 at 03:16 AM

UPDATE: It's official. Ezio Auditore da Firenze is indeed a playable guest character in Namco Bandai's upcoming Soulcalibur V. The news was confirmed via a trailer showing the assassin holding his own against a few familiar faces. Unlike some of the past guest stars, Ezio's fighting style and appearance fit nicely into the Soulcalibur universe, and you can see it for yourself.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Soulcalibur franchise is no stranger to visitors from other series and publishers. The last game had cameos by Darth Vader and Yoda and Soulcalibur II had a special guest character on each platform, such as the Zelda series' Link for the Gamecube version. Now the upcoming Soulcalibur V is rumored to be getting a deadly appearance from the current leading man from the Assassin's Creed games.

Joystiq was sent a photo of the Soulcalibur V character select menu allegedly taken from a fighting tournament. The screen shows Ezio from the most recent Assassin's Creed games as a combatant. Unfortunately, the image was sent anonymously and has yet to be confirmed by either Namco Bandai or Ubisoft.

Does Ezio fit in Soulcalibur? Would you be pleased with this addition to the cast?
