Deadly Premonition Prequel, Sequel, And More From Swery Planned

Ever since Deadly Premonition came into my life last year as a deeply flawed yet utterly lovable mess of a game, I've been eager to see what's next from Access Games director Hidetaka Suehiro, better known as Swery. Unsurprisingly, he has some very ambitious plans.

Speaking to Metro last week at Gamescom, Swery made it clear that he would like to continue Deadly Premonition as a franchise, with plans for a prequel, a sequel, and a special edition of the original game. The only info Swery provided on the special edition is that it will apparently feature a graphical improvement from the original.

Beyond the Deadly Premonition plans, Swery also stated that he's begun working on an original, narrative-driven, action-adventure game that has drawn interest from multiple Western publishers.

As might be expected from such a huge laundry list of potential future projects, nothing is being announced for certain yet, so it's possible for any or all of these plans to fall through. Whatever Swery works on next, though, I'm glad to see he's getting some attention for the bizarrely unique style he put on display in Deadly Premonition.
