Ex-EA, Bethesda, and Sony Online Developers Form Second Star Interactive

by Ben Reeves on Feb 09, 2011 at 07:10 AM

Idea Fabrik may not be a household name, but the technology company is hoping to expand into a bigger part of the game’s market, and has hired members from several respectable studios to make that happen.

Idea Fabrik currently owns Simutronics' HeroEngine technology – the game engine currently being used to run BioWare’s upcoming MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic – and the company just announced that it would be utilizing this technology further by opening up its own game studio, Second Star Interactive.

We don’t know what Second Star Interactive has cooking, but with developers from EA, Bethesda, and Sony Online it could be promising. Either way, we should know soon, as Second Star Interactive is working on some kind of online game that it predicts will be out later this year.
