Commander Shepard has arrived on a new, unexplored console, and is waiting for your orders.

BioWare has sent along word that a demo for Mass Effect 2 is now available for download on PlayStation Network. The new demo includes one of the early missions of the game. In it, players explore an abandoned colony planet, and team up with Mordin Solus, one of the main party members in the game.

The full version of Mass Effect 2 will be out on PlayStation 3 on January 18th. The new PS3 version includes approximately six hours of bonus DLC missions, along with the Mass Effect: Genesis interactive comic. If you didn't have a chance to play the game on PC or 360, this new PS3 release will likely be worth every penny.
