Video Games Live Adds Heroes Of Might & Magic Segment

by Phil Kollar on Dec 15, 2010 at 02:45 PM

Touring music show Video Games Live has gained a reputation for showcasing the best video game music, be it from beloved classics like the Mario series or more slightly obscure titles. Now one of my personal favorite series -- the Heroes of Might & Magic games -- will join the line-up, including the debut of a track from Ubisoft's upcoming Might & Magic Heroes VI.

Composers Rob King and Paul Romero, who have created music for the HOMM games from the start, worked together with the Video Games Live team to create an arrangement mixing together a handful of the series' best tracks. The following songs will be included:

Heroes of Might & Magic II – Knight Town
Heroes of Might & Magic II – Sorceress Town
Heroes of Might & Magic IV – Academy Town Theme
Heroes of Might & Magic V – Credits Theme
Might & Magic Heroes VI – Haven Theme

Long-time fans of the series may be disappointed at the lack of tunes from fan-favorite Heroes of Might & Magic III, but personally I always loved II a lot more, so I'm set. In case you're wondering what to expect, here's the Knight Town theme from HOMM II. I'm hoping this segment will be in full effect when Video Games Live comes to Minneapolis next month!
