Dead Space Interactive Comic-Style Game Announced For Fall

by Annette Gonzalez on Jul 07, 2010 at 03:45 PM

Yesterday the official Facebook page for Dead Space hinted at an upcoming big announcement only revealing this teaser image above. We didn't have to wait long as EA today announced the upcoming downloadable Dead Space Ignition. The "interactive comic-style game" under development by Visceral Games and Sumo Digital will hit PS3, Xbox 360, and PC this fall.

Dead Space Ignition serves as a prequel to Dead Space 2 and will include a "satisfying arcade experience that will challenge players with puzzles and twitch gameplay." Ignition "combines an interactive comic-style story with three unique hacking mini games; Hardware Crack, Trace Route and System Override." By completing the 360 and PS3 versions of this choose-your-own-adventure game, players will receive unlockables for the retail version of Dead Space 2, including a special suit for Isaac.

The fall release of Dead Space Ignition will hopefully be enough to tide us over for Dead Space 2's 2011 release. We'll provide more details on Ignition as they become available.
