THQ Announces Beat City

by Meagan Marie on Jan 13, 2010 at 03:06 AM

Challenging players to rediscover the pulse of Beat City, THQ announced today a new rhythm game for the Nintendo DS. In Beat City players are tasked with finding their inner rhythm in order to revitalize a city devoid of life, color, and happiness.

Using the stylus to perform a variety of motions – tap, swipe or hold – the story unfolds through a series of minigames. Successful performances will result in the city transforming, simultaneously taking out the evil corporation that is responsible for the monotony.

Rhythm games on the Nintendo DS have performed relatively well. My personal favorites include Rhythm Heaven and Elite Beat Agents. Anyone here looking for a quirky new DS title to occupy their time?

Beat City is slated to ship spring of 2010 and is rated E for everyone.
