Super Replay – Cyberia 2: Resurrection

by Tim Turi on Nov 30, 2013 at 06:00 AM

I don't know how it happened, but here we are again. Cyberia is the worst game that I've ever beaten (watch our Super Replay to see for yourself), and somehow the Replay crew has cornered me into playing its god awful sequel. How did that ever get greenlit? I didn't even want to write this post describing how anyone who enjoyed laughing at/along with us during the original Cyberia Super Replay is going to want to tune in. Does it play better? Is it shorter? Is the dastardly "Mike" lurking in the shadows? There's only one way to find out, and that's to dive into Cyberia 2 alongside us.

Cyberia 2: Resurrection released for the PC in 1995, which means the primary controls are mouse and keyboard. This is a most welcome change of pace from the original, which we played 90 percent of with a PlayStation controller. Using the d-pad to play Cyberia's fast-paced, terribly designed shooter sections made some sections nearly impossible. But does using a mouse and keyboard out of the gate in Cyberia 2 make it a cakewalk by comparison? Strap in for what's sure to be an excruciating experience with Dan Ryckert, Jeff Cork, Andrew Reiner, and myself to find out. A very special guest joins us for the first episode: long-time GI community member Zachary Pligge (PliggeTheFallen). Zach was in town to graciously help with our Extra Life 2013 marathon and we invited him on to help kick things off.

Note: New episodes of the Cyberia 2: Resurrection Super Replay will air on Saturdays and Sundays until completion.
