What To Watch This Weekend: League Of Legends, Counter-Strike, And Capcom Vs. SNK 2
This weekend we have majors for just about every game under the sun. Shooters, MOBAs, and Fighters are all represented, which should give anyone who just finished up their college finals something to do on their first long "Summer" weekend.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is having its major in Sydney, Australia, this week, which will make watching it live a a bit of challenge, but it should be worth it (you can also just watch the VODs later on). (Stream / Schedule)
League of Legends is back with its Mid-Season Invitational, in which major teams from the circuit's various regions face off internationally. The timezone's are little skewed, but should be relatively easy to handle. (Stream / Schedule)
Dota 2's Epicenter XL major concludes this weekend, and although Team Liquid has already mathematically qualified for The International with their current placement, you can bet they'll give it their all against teams like LGD and VP. (Stream / Schedule)
This week's fighting game event is Texas Showdown, which will feature newcomers like Dragon Ball FighterZ, Tekken 7, and more longside classics like Street Fighter III: Third Strike and Capcom Vs. SNK 2. (Streams / Schedule)
We also have a Japanese tournament called KSB, which will feature anime fighters like The King of Fighters XIV, Arms, and Dead of Alive 5. (English Stream)
For a more Smashing time, Port Authority 3: Tristate Showdown is your event. The event will feature Super Smash Bros. For Wii U. in both doubles and singles format. (Streams and Schedule)
This is the last day the Shanghai Dragons can claim a win in the Overwatch League's third stage. Can they snag it against the London Spitfire? You'll have to watch to find out! (Stream / Schedule)
Meanwhile, the Heroes of the Storm's HGC moves into its Crucible stage, in which lower-tier teams have a shot to make it to the big leagues by winning a best-of-seven series against a team currently in the HGC. (Stream / Schedule)
