Call Of Duty Endowment Has Helped 25,000 Veterans Secure Employment
When Activision Blizzard founded the Call of Duty Endowment, it set a goal to assist 25,000 veterans find high-quality jobs by 2018. It has now reached that goal two years ahead of schedule.
The Call of Duty Endowment funds 10 organizations that work on the ground to pair veterans with job opportunities. Following the success in the first three years, the group has set a new target for itself.
The foundation announced a goal of placing 50,000 veterans in careers by 2019. “The Endowment’s efforts have had a direct and positive impact on the lives of so many who have given so much,” said Bobby Kotick, Activision Blizzard CEO and co-founder of the Call of Duty Endowment. “With U.S. veteran unemployment rates still well above the national average, we are committed to continuing our efforts and have established a new, ambitious goal to secure employment for 50,000 veterans by 2019.”
The Call of Duty Endowment has made $21 million in grants, with funded organizations placing veterans at one-fifth the cost of federal programs. Funded organizations must apply annually for Endowment grants, detailing process and making their financial records available for inspection.
