by AJ Moser on Jul 28, 2016 at 07:01 AM

Doom's multiplayer hopes to draw players back in with new content and extra experience starting tomorrow. The game's second major update brings a number of new multiplayer modes and customization options.

Update 2 hits Doom across all platforms on July 29, and a double XP weekend event will launch at the same time. The new game modes included are Exodus, a one player capture-the-flag game with moving objectives, and Sector, the zone-based capture mode. Both of these gameplay modes will be available on every existing and future maps. Check out these modes in action in the newly released trailer below.

The update also brings some refinements to SnapMap including new weapons, a customizable weapon wheel, and jump pads for increased mobility. Players will also be able to place hell modules on their custom maps as well as take control of the Mancubus demon.

Another new demon will come in the Unto The Evil DLC, launching on August 5 for $14.99 on all platforms. Players who pick this new content up can take control of The Harvester, explore three new maps, and deck out their marines with the UAC EMG pistol, kinetic mine, and new armor options.

Doom's double XP weekend runs until August 1. For our verdict on all the game has to offer, check out our review.
