Dying Light Developer Techland Moves Into Global Publishing

by Matthew Kato on Jun 02, 2016 at 04:17 AM

Techland – the Polish studio behind the Dying Light games (expansion The Following shown above), the first Dead Island title, Call of Juarez, and many more – has announced it is moving into publishing games around the world.

The company already publishes titles in Europe, and Techland is already setting a goal to release two "major multiplatform" games and four digital titles every year.

Techland has not announced any developers it is working with, but promises that the first game under the Techland Publishing moniker will be unveiled soon.

Recently the studio announced it was working on new IP, and teased a second Dying Light game.

Our Take
Publishers work with studios to nurture titles in development, help bring them to market, and support them afterwards. Hopefully Techland's experience as a development studio itself will give them both an eye for exciting projects as well as a sympathetic knowledge of what it takes to release a game and make it successful.
