eBay Buyers Snapping Up Critical Bomb Devil’s Third For $150 Despite Digital Availability
This isn’t an anomaly. We’re not cherry-picking listings. Multiple people are gleefully purchasing Tomonobu Itagaki’s Wii U-exclusive Devil’s Third for $150 on the gray market, with one eager buyer paying $180. The game is listed at $59.99 digitally and, if you can find it, at retail.
The long-delayed and critically-panned Devil’s Third was finally released last week in the United States. The game currently sits at a 44 on Metacritic, and it seems like Nintendo didn’t produce many copies for North America, as it is exceedingly difficult to find.

Devil’s Third was originally in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC at THQ. The rights were transferred back to Valhalla Game Studios, which subsequently struck a deal with Nintendo to bring the game to Wii U exclusively.
Unlike older rare games on Nintendo platforms like Xenoblade Chronicles and Metroid Prime Trilogy, Devil’s Third is available in digital format. You don’t need to have a physical copy in order to play it.

Our Take
I know there is a segment of the gaming population that loves having physical media, but I can’t understand paying nearly triple retail list and digital pricing to bring this one home. By many accounts, it’s a stinker.
