Update: PlayStation Network Back Online After Brief Outage
Update: It looks like whatever external force was crippling the PlayStation Network has been resolved. Carry on with your downloads and multiplayer sessions.

The PlayStation Network is experiencing difficulty on both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Users have reported and Sony has just confirmed the problem.
According to the PSN status page, Sony is labeling this as an issue outside of its control. “You may be experiencing issues related to launching certain games or game functionality,” the company writes. “This is due to factors external to PSN. We are tracking the progress of the resolution of the issue.”
We’ll continue to monitor the situation and update as progress is made.
