Microsoft's Phil Spencer Shares Hopes For Banjo-Kazooie In Super Smash Bros.
Nintendo recently opened the door to fans to suggest Super Smash Bros. guest characters which excited everyone, including Microsoft's head of Xbox, Phil Spencer.
Responding to a tweet directed at Spencer by twitter user @PedroDarkinson, Spencer said he thinks, "it would be cool" is Banjo showed up as DLC for Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS.
@PedroDarkinson I think it would be cool if Banjo was in the next SSB DLC. We've worked with Nintendo on Rare IP before, no issues.

As you can see in the tweet, Spencer also said he doesn't foresee any kinds of issues between the two companies if something like this were to move forward.
We recently collected some of the characters we think think have a good shot of appearing in Smash Bros. as DLC following the poll. You can check out that feature here.

Our Take
This certainly bodes well for those fans entering Banjo's name into Nintendo's Smash Bros. poll. It doesn't mean anything concrete, obviously, but it's nice to hear Microsoft understands the value of having a character appear in a Super Smash Bros. game. With Duckhunt Dog, we know the technology exists to include a mammal and bird combo. Including another shouldn't be too much of a stretch.
