Bloodborne Update 1.02 Fixes Game Progression Bug

by Mike Futter on Apr 01, 2015 at 04:10 AM

Last week, we reported that Bloodborne had a nasty bug obstructing game progression. While it only occurred in certain circumstances, if triggered by specific actions, failure was guaranteed. A new patch fixes the problem.

Update 1.02 is now available (and it may have already been downloaded to your console). According to the patch notes, players will now be able to acquire the key that went missing after using a bell in the Forbidden Woods. The patch also fixes the problem for those already affected by the bug.

Additional bug fixes are included in the patch, but not specified in the notes. We’re still waiting (and hoping) for something that improves the load times following death. Given that you’re likely to perish often, those waits can be more troublesome than losing blood echoes.

Our Take
I’m eager to get started in Bloodborne, but I’m holding off until the load times are improved. I expect to die a lot, and I don’t want to be put off the game because of this problem.
