by Brian Shea on Mar 16, 2015 at 02:06 PM

Square Enix has announced that new downloadable songs are hitting the European version of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call, which suggests that these same songs could be coming to the North American version of the game very soon.

According to the communication, fans will be able to purchase (or download, since some of the songs are listed as "free" until April 1) the following Field Music Sequence and Battle Music Sequence songs:

  • "Meridian Child" (FMS from Seiken Densetsu 3)
  • "Corridors of Time" (FMS from Chrono Trigger)
  • "Boss Battle 2" (BMS)
  • "Real Emotion" (BMS from Final Fantasy X-2)
  • "Devil Lord Confrontation II" (BMS from Romancing SaGa 3)
  • "Struggle to the Death" (BMS from Final Fantasy Legend II)
  • "Birds in the Sky, Fish in the River" (FMS from Live a Live – Listed as free until April 1)
  • "Shadowlord" (BMS from NieR – Listed as free until April 1)

When we reached out to Square Enix PR regarding the matter, the team was unable to offer a comment. Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call released last year on Nintendo 3DS. Check out our review to learn more about our thoughts on the game.

Our Take
In the past, songs announced for the European version have typically been confirmed for the North American version shortly after (though we don't know if the songs that are free in Europe will also be free in North America). North American fans should keep their eyes open for communications coming from Square Enix or Nintendo over the next week or so regarding this news.
