Jamie N Commons Tapped For Battlefield Hardline Theme

by Jeff Cork on Dec 05, 2014 at 03:56 AM

Jamie N Commons' thumping anthem "Jungle" was used in the first teaser trailer for Battlefield Hardline, and the artist has followed up by writing a song exclusively for the game. If you tune in to tonight's Game Awards 2014, you'll be able to see him perform the new track, "Karma," live.

"The music, and moreover the audio help create that emotional experience you want gamers to feel as they play in the world we've built for them," says Steve Papoutsis, VP and general manager of Visceral Games and executive producer of Battlefield Hardline. "With ‘Karma', Jamie captured that gritty cop and criminals tone that defines Hardline, where not everyone is good and not everyone is bad, toeing that fine line of the law."

Commons will be performing the single tonight at the awards, which begin tonight at 6 p.m. Pacific. You can download the track from the iTunes store, or check out his earlier work in the trailer below.

Battlefield Hardline is set for a March 17, 2015, release on PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, after it was delayed earlier this year.

Our Take
Considering the current political climate, the game's delay could have been the best thing to happen to Battlefield Hardline. A musical performance could be just what Hardline needs – a way to remind players that it's on the horizon without highlighting morally gray police officers toeing that fine line of the law.
