Sportfriends Delayed For ‘More Weeks’ Of Additional Refinement

by Mike Futter on Jan 20, 2014 at 02:03 PM

If you’ve been waiting to put your PlayStation Move controllers back into action, you’ll have to sit tight for another few weeks. Die Gute Fabrik has announced that it is delaying the four-game Sportsfriends bundle for “some more weeks.”

Die Gute Fabrik assures that it's still on-budget. "We're still working hard — and getting very close — but unfortunately we're going to need some more weeks," the group reported to backers. Sportsfriends is targeted for release on PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. A beta on computer platforms will be released alongside the final PlayStation 3 version. The PlayStation 4 version will come later.

Sportsfriends was funded via Kickstarter, reaching its $150,000 goal in the very late stages of the campaign. It includes four games: Johann Sebastian Joust, Barabariball, Super Pole Riders, and Hokra. You can read our preview of all four here.

Our Take
A weeks-long delay isn’t a hard pill to swallow for a game coming to five platforms. The unanticipated PC, Mac, and Linux beta goes some way to ease the sting. I’ve heard great things about the compilation, and look forward to eventually giving it a try.
